Wrestlers fail to prove sexual harassment allegations against WFI chief Brijbhushan Sharan Singh: Reports

No concrete evidence has been found against Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) chief Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh, who was accused of sexual harassment by the country's top wrestlers.

The wrestlers had demanded disbanding of WFI and the removal of President Brijbhushan. And a 5-member oversight committee was formed by the Sports Ministry to probe the allegations with legendary boxer MC Mary Kom as its head.

The committee submitted its report in the first week of April but the ministry is yet to make its findings public.

However, according to PTI, multiple sources have confirmed that the wrestlers could not prove the sexual harassment allegations against the WFI boss even after several hearings.

The report claims that Vinesh Phogat & Sakshi Malik, the most prominent among the protesting wrestlers, submitted wrong information in their written affidavits to the probe panel.

According to the report, a female physio, who the wrestlers had claimed was sexually harassed by the WFI chief, also denied any mistreatment by Brijbhushan Sharan Singh.
