<p>The second edition of the Women&rsquo;s Premier League (WPL) is likely to follow a multi-city format similar to the IPL and the matches may be played across Mumbai and Bengaluru.</p>
<p>All the matches of the inaugural WPL were played between March 4 and 26 earlier this year at the DY Patil Stadium and the Brabourne Stadium.</p>
<p>&ldquo;The final decision (about venues) might come on December 9 (the day of the WPL auction) but it is highly likely that this year it (WPL) will follow the multi-city format with Mumbai and Bengaluru being the front-runners at this moment,&rdquo; a BCCI official told PTI on conditions of anonymity.</p>
<p>&ldquo;The WPL was received well by the fans in the opening year, and it is the right time to take it to different cities. Bengaluru always has a good audience for women&rsquo;s cricket, and it has now grown because of the RCB women&rsquo;s team.&rdquo; Mumbai and Karnataka cricket association officials too expressed readiness to host the matches, if indeed they come their way.</p>
<p>Royal Challengers Bangalore women&rsquo;s team captain Smriti Mandhana too had backed the multi-city format for the WPL.</p>
<p>&ldquo;It would be great to have WPL in a multi-city format. That might be the next step and I am sure people right here would look into it and make it happen. As an RCB fan, I would love to play in Chinnaswamy where people are chanting &lsquo;RCB, RCB&rsquo; and just to be in that environment,&rdquo; Mandhana had said during the recent RCB Innovation Lab&rsquo;s Leaders Meet India.</p>
<p>&ldquo;That is something which is one step ahead for us that it (multi-city format) can reach to places where women&rsquo;s cricket hasn&rsquo;t reached and to get a new audience going into women&rsquo;s cricket,&rdquo; Mandhana added.</p>

<p>At the time of the incident, Mushfiqur was batting at 35. Using his bat to block a ball from Kyle Jamieson, he palmed the ball away with his gloves as it bounced. It appeared as though the ball was heading away from the stumps innocuously, making his decision to step in even more questionable.</p>
<p>The umpires on the field got into a huddle and then referred the decision to the third umpire, who sealed his fate and gave him out for &lsquo;obstructing the field&rsquo;.</p>

<p>In honour of the 75th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, messages will be aired on television and social media during Champions League games next week, UEFA General Secretary Theodore Theodoridis announced on Tuesday during a sports conference held in the UN's European headquarters. During his speech delivered at the UN, he promised to do more to advance human rights and shield female players from harassment.&nbsp;</p>
<p>UEFA also agreed to strengthen the fight against discrimination in all its forms and admitted to the mistakes made in the past under Theodoridis' leadership.&nbsp;</p>
<p>The event on Tuesday was hosted by the Geneva-based Centre for Sport and Human Rights, UEFA's risk adviser for the 2024 European Championship in men's soccer which it wants to be inclusive and tackle discrimination.</p>
<p><strong>Focus on the rapid growth of Women's soccer also: Theodore Theodoridis</strong></p>
<p>Three weeks after forcing national team player Jenni Hermoso to kiss him on the lips during the Women's World Cup trophy presentation, Luis Rubiales resigned in September from his positions as president of the Spanish soccer federation and vice president of UEFA citing this incident as an example said, "We will also work to make sure that the rapid growth in the women's game is joined by greater efforts to prevent harassment, abuse and violence against women."</p>

<p>The 21-year-old Manikanta clocked 10.23 seconds to win heat number 3 and qualify for the final.</p>
<p>He beat the earlier national record of 10.26 seconds which was in the name of Amiya Kumar Mallick of Odisha set in 2016.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The new allegations surfaced in a FIFA disciplinary committee report, where Debbie Hewitt, chair of the English Football Association, described witnessing Rubiales's actions. Hewitt recalled Rubiales "cupping and stroking" England's Laura Coombs' face, which she found "slightly odd," followed by him forcefully kissing Lucy Bronze on the face.</p>
<p>Rubiales refuted these claims, criticizing Hewitt for "hypocrisy," as she too embraced players during the ceremony. He condemned Hewitt's portrayal of him as "some sort of creep" as "absolutely disgusting."</p>
<p>Rubiales resigned from his position on September 10 amidst growing backlash and player protests. FIFA also imposed a three-year ban on him in October for his conduct.</p>
