Unvaccinated players could take part in Australian Open: Reports

Unvaccinated players will be allowed to take part in next year's Australian Open under some conditions, WTA told its players, as per a leaked e-mail to the US media. As per the mail, the players who haven't received both the jabs for the Covid-19 vaccine will have to undergo a 14-day quarantine period, and those vaccinated do not need to undergo quarantine.

However, this is not officially announced and the Australian government and Tennis Australia also declined to comment on the issue. Last week an Australian govt official announced that only players who are fully vaccinated can get the visa to participate in the tournament. Many Tennis players under WTA and Men's ATP are still unvaccinated, World No. 1 Novak Djokovic has also refused to reveal his vaccination status.
