UCL: Unvaccinated Chelsea, Real Madrid stars may miss matches in France after changes in Covid law

After France changed its Covid-19 law for unvaccinated people, Real Madrid and Chelsea are expected to lose their unvaccinated players for their away leg round of 16 matches in the UEFA Champions League.

UEFA in a statement said that clubs have to adhere to rules in each country, however, they are still in discussions over whether exemptions will be possible.

Moreover, according to UEFA's Covid-19 guidelines, a neutral country could be suggested for both home and away games if restrictions apply to visiting teams.

Champions League will resume from next month with Paris Saint-Germain hosting Real Madrid on February 15 for the first leg knockout game while Chelsea will travel to Lille on March 16.
