Super grandma creates new national record in 100-metre race

While most people retire after a certain age and prefer to relax, this story will surely inspire millions. A 105-year-old lady named Rambai set a new national record in the 100-metre sprint.

While participating in the inaugural edition of the National Open Masters Athletics Championships, the grand old lady clinched a golden double in sprints, completing the 100-metre race in 45.40 seconds and the 200-meter sprint in 1 minute, 52.17 seconds.

"It's a great feeling and I want to race again," Rambai told the Times of India.

She broke the 5-year-old national record created by Man Kaur, who completed the 100-meter race in 74 seconds. Kaur was 101 years old then.

The 105-year-old lady further revealed that she wanted to run at a younger age but no one gave her a chance. She started racing at the age of 104.

Rambai was born on January 1, 1917, and now she wanted to take part in international tournaments.
