Indian tennis veteran Rohan Bopanna concluded his remarkable Davis Cup journey on a high note, securing a comfortable straight-set win with Yuki Bhambri. This victory, followed by Sumit Nagal's triumph in the reverse singles, ensured India's victory against Morocco in the World Group II tie with a score of 3-1.

In his 33rd and final Davis Cup appearance, the 43-year-old Bopanna partnered with Bhambri to swiftly clinch a 6-2, 6-1 victory against Elliot Benchetrit and Younes Lalami Laaroussi at the Mini Stadium in Lucknow

Sumit Nagal, India's top singles player, displayed exceptional skills by defeating Yassine Dlimi with a score of 6-3, 6-3 in the first reverse singles, securing the home tie for India. Notably, Nagal has achieved a similar feat, winning both singles matches in a Davis Cup tie, previously against Pakistan in 2019.

This victory propels India into next year's World Group I play-offs, marking a significant milestone in their Davis Cup journey.

In the presence of his family and friends, Bopanna expressed his gratitude for their unwavering support, and with heartfelt gestures, he acknowledged the love and appreciation from the stands.

Bopanna's last Davis Cup match was a memorable event, witnessed by an audience adorned with T-shirts featuring his waving tri-colour picture. The match showcased Bopanna's exceptional skill with serves, sealing an impressive victory for the Indian team.
