International Hockey Federation mulls change in penalty-corner rules

The International Hockey Federation (FIH) is mulling the change in penalty-corners (PCs) rules for the players' safety.

While talking to the media on the sidelines of the ongoing Hockey World Cup in Rourkela, FIH president Tayyab Ikram said that a review of players' safety during PCs is an ongoing process and FIH is going to start some experiments soon.

Notably, drag flicks during the penalty corner are often unleashed at speeds in excess of 150kmph which can lead to serious injuries for defenders, especially the first rusher.
