India to host maiden MotoGP race in 2023 in Greater Noida

A big milestone for motor racing in India!

The country is all set to host its maiden MotoGP race at the Buddh International Circuit in Greater Noida next year. The race will be called the 'Grand Prix of Bharat'.

With MotoGP commercial rights owner Dorna and Noida-based promoters Fairstreet Sports signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), the country is expected to host the world's premier two-wheeler racing event for a period of seven years at least, starting from 2023.

India, the largest two-wheeler manufacturer in the world, will witness top manufacturers like Yamaha, Honda, Ducati, KTM, and Aprilia, all gunning for glory in the Grand Prix of Bharat.

Previously, the Buddh International Circuit hosted the Indian Grand Prix in Formula 1 for 3 consecutive years, from 2011 to 2013.

And even though F1 exited the nation, citing financial & bureaucratic hurdles, the MotoGP could pave the way for more international motorsport events in India in days to come.
