In a prestigious recognition, Neeraj Chopra, India's celebrated Olympic and world champion in javelin throw, has been honoured by Switzerland Tourism with a special plaque at the renowned Ice Palace located at Jungfraujoch, famously dubbed the 'Top of Europe.' This accolade comes as a tribute to Chopra's impressive achievements in the field of sports, marking his influence on an international level.

The ceremony at Jungfraujoch, which proudly sits atop the Swiss Alps, saw the unveiling of the plaque dedicated to Chopra. This event not only commemorates his remarkable journey in athletics but also places him among other illustrious athletes like tennis legend Roger Federer and professional golfer Rory McIlroy, who have previously been honoured similarly at this iconic site.

Switzerland Tourism issued a statement highlighting the significance of this gesture, emphasizing that the Wall of Fame at Jungfraujoch is a symbol of the enduring spirit of excellence and commitment. The inclusion of Chopra's name and achievements in this esteemed list reflects his exceptional contribution to sports and serves as an inspiration to many.

During the event, Chopra expressed his deep appreciation for the honor. "I am humbled by the love and appreciation I have received in this country. To have a plaque installed here in this stunning Ice Palace was beyond my wildest dreams, yet here I am," he remarked, clearly moved by the gesture. He further shared his exhilaration, stating, "I feel on top of the world, as I stand at the Top of Europe."

Adding to the significance of the occasion, Chopra donated one of his javelins to the tourist landmark, which has been proudly displayed next to his plaque. This contribution mirrors a similar gesture he made earlier to the Olympic Museum in Switzerland, reinforcing his ties and contributions to the country's rich sporting culture.
