Since the Covid-19 scare still hovers, FIFA has decided to increase the squad size for the upcoming World Cup 2022 which will be held in Qatar, starting November 21st. FIFA in its statement said that the number of players to be included in the final list has been increased to at least 23 and a maximum of 26. The football governing body further said that the decision to expand squads was made due to the need to retain additional flexibility due to the unique timing of this year's competition, which will interrupt the European club season.The extra players would likely come from the European club whose domestic season should pause by November 13th. FIFA also took into consideration the disruptive effects caused by the Covid-19 pandemic and increased the squad size. Priorly only 22 players were allowed to play in each squad for any international tournament.

While talking to the Times of India, the two-time Asian Games medallist said that transgender athletes are not getting any unfair advantage during competitions.

She also added that transgenders have already faced a lot of societal pressure and humiliation to reach the top level and one should not make things difficult for them.

Dutee was once accused of being a man after failing the male testosterone test. She fought against World Athletics' hyperandrogenism policy in the Court of Arbitration for Sports in 2015, which brought her global sporting fame.

The final price tag for last year's Covid-delayed Tokyo Olympics was put at $13 billion, the organising committee said Tuesday in its final act before it is dissolved at the end of the month.
The cost was twice what was forecast in 2013 when Tokyo was awarded the hosting rights. However, the final price tag presented by organisers is lower than the $15.4 billion they predicted when the Olympics ended just under 11 months ago.

Olympic Champion Neeraj Chopra finished second at the prestigious Diamond League meeting in Stockholm on Thursday.
Neeraj Chopra shattered the national record once again, recording a throw of 89.94m. He fell short of the coveted 90-metre mark by just 6 centimetres.
Making his first appearance in four years at the prestigious one-day meet, Chopra claimed the second spot with his personal best throw of 89.94 metres.
The 24-year-old had also finished second at the Paavo Nurmi Games with a previous best throw of 89.30m.
At the Kourtane Games, his throw of 86.60m was enough to fetch him a Gold in tough conditions.
But the Stockholm meet was the toughest event of the year since it was also the first time since Tokyo 2020 that all Olympic medalists from his event were in action.
World Champion Anderson Peters emerged victorious in the competition with a best throw of 90.31 metres. Julian Weber of Germany was third with a throw of 89.08 metres.
Even though Neeraj Chopra narrowly missed out on winning the event, he became only the second Indian to finish in the top three in a Diamond League competition after discus thrower Vikas Gowda.

While participating in the inaugural edition of the National Open Masters Athletics Championships, the grand old lady clinched a golden double in sprints, completing the 100-meter race in 45.40 seconds and the 200-meter sprint in 1 minute, 52.17 seconds.
"It's a great feeling and I want to race again," Rambai told the Times of India.
She broke the 5-year-old national record created by Man Kaur, who completed the 100-meter race in 74 seconds. Kaur was 101 years old then.

The 105-year-old lady further revealed that she wanted to run at a younger age but no one gave her a chance. She started racing at the age of 104.
Rambai was born on January 1, 1917, and now she wanted to take part in international tournaments.
