By beating Medvedev, Nick Kyrgios reached his maiden quarterfinals at the US Open

Highlights! US Open: Daniil Medvedev failed to defend his US Open title as he crashed out of round 4 after Nick Kyrgios beat him 7-6, 3-6, 6-3, 6-2 on Sunday.

World number 1 Medvedev, had history by his side having beaten his opponent from Australia thrice in 4 meetings, but Kyrgios carried on with his top form and stole Medvedev's spotlight at the Flushing Meadows.

This is the first time Kyrgios has reached the quarterfinals of US Open. The 27-year-old has reached a grand slam final just once in his career, which happened recently when he made it to the final of Wimbledon 2022.
