'Here I am': Rafael Nadal reaches Melbourne ahead of Aus Open

Rafael Nadal who had earlier expressed doubts about participating in the first Grand Slam of the year has reached Melbourne, he informed through his Twitter.

The former World No. 1, who has only won the Australian Open once, tweeted a picture of himself while practicing on Friday and wrote 'Here I am'

The Spaniard had tested positive for Covid-19 when he returned home after attending an exhibition event in Abu Dhabi earlier last month, which had cast doubts on his Australia tour which is set to begin from January 17th.

35-year-old Nadal is tied at 20 Grand Slams with Novak Djokovic and Roger Federer. While Roger Federer will not be taking part in the Australian Open owing to his knee injury, Djokovic who has withdrawn from the ATP Cup is still to confirm his vaccination status to take part in Melbourne.
