In a stunning upset at the French Open, second seed Daniil Medvedev suffered an early exit in the opening round, falling to Brazilian qualifier Thiago Seyboth Wild in a grueling five-set match.

Playing on the historic Philippe Chatrier court, where Brazilian tennis legend Gustavo Kuerten had claimed three championships, the 23-year-old Seyboth Wild showcased his attacking style to the delight of the crowd.

After taking the first set, he appeared to lose his opportunity when he squandered a 6-4 advantage in the second-set tie-break and missed a straightforward overhead, gifting Medvedev the set.

But despite winning the third set as well, the Russian star couldn't maintain his momentum as Seyboth Wild staged a remarkable comeback in the fourth set. Breaking Medvedev's serve three times in the decisive fifth set, the Brazilian triumphed with a scoreline of 7-6 (5), 6-7 (6), 2-6, 6-3, 6-4, securing his first-ever Grand Slam victory with a total of 69 winners.
