Former world champion Sindhu won the round of 16 match against Putri Kusuma Wardani 21-16, 21-16, sealing it in her favour without breaking a sweat against the Indonesian.
Sindhu will line up against China's He Bingjiao in the quarterfinals, and will fancy her chances against the Chinese having denied her a medal at the Tokyo Olympics two years ago.
Bingjiao won 21-10 21-4 against Rasila Maharjan of Nepal.
Prannoy also booked his spot in the quarterfinals as he beat Kazakhstan's Dmitriy Panarin 21-12 21-13.
Sindhu was excellent in rallies and dictated terms to her opponent from the get-go, and so was Prannoy, India's best singles player at the moment who, unfortunately, could not feature in the team event final against China owing to an injury.
However, Treesa Jolly and Gayatri Gopichand were knocked out in the round of 16 by Korean pair of Kim Soyeong and Kong Heeyong. The Koreans won 21-15, 18-21, 21-13.
Indian challenge in Women Doubles also came to an end as Ashwini Ponnappa &amp; Tanisha Crasto went down fighting to reigning World Championships medalists Zhang Shuxian &amp; Zheng Yu 13-21, 21-23 in the 2nd round.
Earlier, India&rsquo;s Tanisha Crasto and Sai Pratheek Krishna Prasad were also bowed out in the Round of 16 after defeats to Malaysia&rsquo;s Toh Ee Wei and Chen Tang Jie.
The Malaysian duo won 21-18, 21-18.

The Indian duo of Dipika Pallikal and Harinder Pal Singh Sandhu rallied to enter the final of the mixed doubles squash event with a 2-1 win over their opponents from Hong Kong at the Asian Games here on Wednesday.
The Indians won 7-11, 11-7, 11-9 against Hong Kong's Lee Ka Yi and Wong Chi Him.
However, it was heartbreak for the second Indian pair of Abhay Singh and Anahat Singh as they lost to Aifa Binti Azman and Mohammad Syafiq Bin Mohd Kamal of Malaysia 11-8, 2-11, 9-11 in the other mixed doubles semi-final.
In a match that saw Anahat colliding with Azman, the Indians won the first game quite comfortably but lost their way in the second before the Malaysians emerged winners in the decisive tie, ensuring that it won't be an all-India final in the mixed event.
Earlier, the seasoned Dipika and Harinder lost the opening game of their semifinal to Yi and Him, but staged a remarkable comeback to claim the next two games and emerge winners after 38 minutes of intense squash.
While the Indians took just nine minutes to win the second game thanks to Harinder and Dipika's excellent court coverage, the third game lasted 15 minutes as the pair from Hong Kong looked to stretch the decider.
Even as the Indians advanced to the final, there was a moment of concern for the team when the ball struck Harinder in the face after a shot from Lee.&nbsp;

It was a close contest for Jyothi and Ojas in the final but they managed to defeat South Korea at the end, with the Indians winning the tie with a score of 149-148.

Saurav Ghosal thrashed Henry Leung 3-0 (11-2, 11-1, 11-6) and stormed into men's singles final at Asian Games 2023 on Wednesday.

Saurav will take on Ng Eain Yow of Malaysia in the final on October 5.

Hong Kong's Henry Leung was no match for Indian squash veteran Saurav Ghosal, who registered a 3-0 (11-2, 11-1, 11-6) victory to storm into the men's singles final at Asian Games 2023 on Wednesday.
It will be Ghosal's second Asian Games final, winning which will make him the first Indian ever to clinch gold in the men's singles event at the Asiad.

India had another great day 11 at the Asian Games in Hangzhou, where they won medals in archery, athletics and boxing among others on October 4. From Neeraj Chopra and Kishore Jena in javelin throw to the Compound Archery mixed team of Ojas Deotale and Jyothi Surekha Vennam, India tightened their grip on the fourth spot on the medal tally with another exceptional show. India have already achieved their best-ever medal haul in the history of the Asiad, going well past the 70 medals they had won in Jakarta 2018 with 3 more days still to go in Hangzhou 2022.
With a number of medal events set to take place on October 5, India's medal tally could rise even further on day 12 of the Asiad, especially in archery, squash, wrestling and athletics.
In archery, the men's and women's compound teams will feature in the quarterfinals first up before the medal rounds and with world champions in their ranks, India will be unhappy with anything but Gold.
In squash, India will be participating in two finals - one in the mixed doubles where the pair of Dipika Pallikal and Harinder Pal Singh Sandhu will be in action, while veteran Saurav Ghosal will feature in the men's singles final as well.
Five Indians will also be in the fray in wrestling on October 5: Two in Greco-Roman and 3 in Women's Freestyle, which will be headlined by World Championship Bronze medallist Antim Panghal.

Poster boy of Indian athletics, Neeraj Chopra defended his Asian Games gold medal with a throw of 88.88m. He got a tough fight from Kishore Jena, who finished with a silver.

It was the first time since 1951 that India won gold in both men's and women's javelin throw at the Asian Games.

The writing was on the wall. Neeraj Chopra was being labelled as the favourite to win Men's Javelin throw gold and he lived up to the billing.
Poster boy of Indian athletics, Neeraj finished at the top of the podium but got a tough fight from Kishore Jena, who finished with a silver.
Neeraj's first throw probably around the 87m mark but he had to retake it because another athlete went for his throw before Neeraj's was measured.
The Tokyo Olympics gold medallist then recorded 84.49m with his second attempt and was leading before Jena overtook him in his 3rd attempt with his Personal Best throw of 86.77m.
With that throw, he also qualified for the Paris Olympics. The qualification mark was 85.50.
But Neeraj didn't give up. He once again took the lead with a throw of 88.88m. Jena improved his personal best recorded a throw of 87.54m but that still fell a little short but helped him clinch silver.
What made the feat even more historic was the fact that it was the first time since 1951 that India won gold in both men's and women's javelin throw at the Asian Games.

India, who won a bronze in the last edition, will be eyeing a repeat of the 2014 Asian Games, where they finished at the top of the podium.
A gold in the ongoing Asian Games is of huge significance for the Tokyo Olympics bronze medallists as it will ensure their direct entry into the 2024 Paris Games.
Hardik Singh (5th minute), Mandeep Singh (11th), Lalit Kumar Upadhyay (15th), Amit Rohidas (24th) and Abhishek (54th) were the goal-getters for India, while Manjae Jung (17th, 20th, 42nd) scored a hat-trick for Korea but it went in vain.
The Indians started from where they had left in the pool stages and came out attacking from the onset.
It was all about Indian attack and Korea's defence in the opening quarter as the Harmanpreet-led side mounted continuous raids on the opposition defence.
It took just five minutes for India to take the lead through Hardik, who scored from a rebound after Lalit's initial try was saved by Korean goalkeeper Jaehyeon Kim.
Three minutes later, an unmarked Mandeep got plenty of space inside the circle but his slap shot, with only the goalkeeper to beat, went over the post.
The first quarter saw fast-paced continuous attacks from the Indians and their tactics bore fruit again in the 11th minute when Mandeep deflected in his 10th goal here from a Gurjant pass.
India secured their first penalty corner in the 13th minute but Harmanpreet's flick went wide.
Just at the stroke of the first quarter, Lalit was at the right place to push in a rebound after Harmanpreet's reverse hit was saved by the Korean goalkeeper to hand India a 3-0 lead.
The Koreans looked more purposeful in the second quarter and got their act together to put pressure on the Indians with two quick goals.
India looked a bit out of sorts at the start of the second quarter, and the Koreans took full advantage of that and started to put pressure on the 2014 Asian Games champions' defence.
The pressure resulted in Korea's first penalty corner two minutes into the second quarter and Jung scored as they executed a neatly worked out variation.
Three minutes later, Korea reduced the margin to 2-3 when Jung deflected in Taeil Hwang's pass.
Stunned by Korea's fight-back, the Indians got their composure back and went back to their tried and tested possession hockey, which yielded results when Rohidas stepped up in Harmanpreet's absence to flick in a penalty corner.
The goal seemed to have reignited Harmanpreet's side as minutes later they earned their third penalty corner but the variation effort was not up to the mark as the scoreline stood 4-2 in India's favour.
Known for their fighting spirit, the Koreans looked in no mood to give up and put relentless pressure on the Indian goal after the change of ends.
Two minutes after half-time, Korea got a golden chance but Lee Nam Yong flicked the ball wide after five Korean strikers invaded the Indian 'D'.
Korea's pressure jolted the Indians as they conceded another penalty corner and another variation was perfectly deflected in by Jung to register his hat-trick and reduce the scoreline.
Trailing by just one goal, the Koreans played high-press hockey in the fourth and final quarter but the Indians defended in numbers to keep their opponents at bay.
Abhishek gave India some breathing space six minutes from the final hooter.
The young striker slammed the ball into the goal with a fierce reverse hit from top of the circle after receiving a pass from Mandeep to score his eighth goal of the tournament.
With four minutes left on the clock, Korea withdrew their goalkeeper for an extra field player in search of goals but the Indian defence stood tall.
India will take on the winners of the other semifinal between defending champions Japan and China in the gold medal clash on Saturday.
