Family unable to contact Wushu athlete from Arunachal Pradesh denied visa by China for Asian Games 2023

Wushu athlete Mepung Lamgu, who was to represent India at the Asian Games 2023 in China, has become unreachable after being denied a visa for the prestigious event. This has left her family in Arunachal Pradesh deeply concerned, fervently hoping that she remains strong during this challenging time.

Mepung Lamgu, a 20-year-old promising wushu athlete, is among three wushu players from Arunachal Pradesh facing a disheartening visa denial for the Hangzhou Asian Games. The news shattered her, leaving her in tears and her family, especially her brother Gandhi Lamgu, worried and unable to contact her.

Gandhi Lamgu, a doctor based in Itanagar, last spoke to Mepung when the news broke. However, all attempts to reach her since then have failed, exacerbating the family's apprehensions. The lack of communication and the difficult circumstances have left them anxious about her emotional state.

Mepung's family resides in Seppa, a remote area approximately 200 kilometers from the state capital, further complicating their ability to stay connected. Given the limited network coverage and the emotional toll this situation has taken, her brother Gandhi made the difficult decision not to share this development with their parents to protect them from distress.

Gandhi Lamgu played a pivotal role in encouraging and supporting Mepung's wushu journey, ensuring she pursued her dreams in the sport. Mepung competes in wushu taolu-taijijian and taijiquan events, showcasing her dedication and talent.

Despite this unexpected setback, Mepung Lamgu's journey epitomizes resilience and determination. Her story is a testament to the unyielding spirit that strives for success, even in the face of challenges. The Lamgu family remains hopeful, relying on Mepung's strength and their love and support for her during this trying period.
