FAKE! Bajrang Punia slams IT cell for sharing 'morphed photos'

Indian wrestler Bajrang Punia slammed the 'IT cell' people after an image of smiling wrestlers while detained by the police is making rounds on the internet.

Punia posted a clarification on his social media handle and also warned about filing a complaint against those who were posting the fake images. 'IT Cell people are spreading this false picture. We make it clear that a complaint will be filed against whoever posts this fake picture', his Tweet read.

While in one image which is marked as fake Vinesh Phogat and Sangeeta Phogat along with other people on a bus can be seen smiling, in the real picture, the 2 protesting wrestlers had serious faces.

Earlier in the day on Sunday, unprecedented scenes of police dragging the Olympic and world championships medal-winning players were witnessed when the wrestlers and their supporters breached the security cordon ahead of their march towards the new Parliament building for the planned women's 'Mahapanchayat'.

While Bajrang was detained at a police station near Mayur Vihar, Sakshi was kept in Burari. Vinesh and Sangeeta were taken to Kalkaji before being released.

After the wrestlers were pushed into buses, the police officers began clearing the protest site by removing the cots, mattresses, coolers, fans and the tarpaulin ceiling along with other belongings of the grapplers. The Delhi Police said it will not allow the wrestlers back into the protest site.
