Badminton: PV Sindhu drops to 15th spot in latest BWF World rankings

India's badminton queen and Olympic double medallist, PV Sindhu, has fallen three places to now occupy the 15th spot in the latest women's singles BWF World rankings.

Sindhu, who had previously exited the top 10 rankings in April this year, currently holds 51,070 points from participating in 13 tournaments.

After a five-month-long break due to a stress fracture in her ankle following her gold medal win at the Commonwealth Games in August last year, the 27-year-old Indian shuttler has struggled to find her form this season.

Sindhu is scheduled to compete in the Canada Open Super 500 tournament this week.

This season, Sindhu's notable performances include reaching the final of the Madrid Spain Masters Super 300 and the semifinals of the Malaysia Masters Super 500. However, she faced early exits from several other events at the beginning of the year.

In the men's doubles category, Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty hold the highest ranking among Indian players, securing the third position worldwide.

HS Prannoy is the highest-ranked Indian in men's singles, currently occupying the 8th spot, while Lakshya Sen and Kidambi Srikanth hold the 19th and 20th positions, respectively.

Among women's doubles, Treesa Jolly and Gayatri Gopichand dropped one place to the 17th position.

The men's doubles pair of MR Arjun and Dhruv Kapila are ranked 26th, while Rohan Kapoor and N Sikki Reddy hold the 33rd position in the latest rankings.
