<p>The ongoing feud between S Sreesanth and Gautam Gambhir took another turn on Friday, with the Legends League Cricket reportedly sending a legal notice to Sreesanth. The development follows Sreesanth's claim that Gambhir referred to him as a 'fixer' during a match.</p>
<p>According to India Today, the LLC has stipulated that discussions with Sreesanth will only commence once he deletes the videos criticizing Gambhir from his social media platforms.</p>
<p>LLC authorities said on Thursday that they will conduct an &ldquo;internal investigation&rdquo; after Sreesanth uploaded the scathing video on his Instagram. The LLC said if evidence of misconduct is found, it will be "dealt with strictly".</p>
<p>On Wednesday, the umpires had to intervene and separate the two players. Sreesanth was handed a life ban by the BCCI's disciplinary committee due to his alleged involvement in the IPL 2013 spot-fixing scandal.</p>
<p>However, the ban was reduced to seven years in 2019 by the Supreme Court of India.</p>

<p>Juventus midfielder may face a 4-year ban in a doping case in Italy. He had tested positive for testosterone earlier.</p>

<p>Anti-doping prosecutors in Italy requested a maximum four-year ban for Juventus midfielder Paul Pogba on Thursday after the World Cup winner tested positive for testosterone.</p>
<p>Pogba opted not to make a plea bargain with Italy's anti-doping agency, meaning the case will be tried before the country's anti-doping court.</p>
<p>If the four-year ban is confirmed, it could end the 30-year-old Pogba&rsquo;s career.</p>
<p>Four-year bans are standard under the World Anti-Doping Code but can be reduced in cases where an athlete can prove their doping was not intentional, if the positive test was a result of contamination or if they provide &ldquo;substantial assistance&rdquo; to help investigators.</p>
<p>Pogba&rsquo;s positive test was announced in September, stemming from an exam that was carried out after Juventus&rsquo; game at Udinese on Aug. 20. Pogba did not play in the Serie A match but was on Juve&rsquo;s bench.</p>
<p>Pogba has made no public comments on the case.</p>
<p>&ldquo;Humanely, I&rsquo;m sorry for Paul,&rdquo; Juventus coach Massimiliano Allegri said in October.</p>
<p>The doping case is another negative note for a player who has been bothered by injuries ever since rejoining Juventus from Manchester United in July of last year. He was ruled out of France&rsquo;s run to the World Cup final last year due to a knee injury, played in only six Serie A matches for Juventus last season and two this season.</p>
<p>There&rsquo;s also been a police investigation ongoing in France into allegations that Pogba was targeted by extortionists &mdash; including by his older brother Mathias, who has denied any wrongdoing.</p>
<p>Pogba scored for France in the 4-2 win over Croatia in the 2018 World Cup final. He played in 178 matches for Juventus from 2012-16.</p>

<p>Lungi Ngidi, the fast bowler from South Africa, has been sidelined from the upcoming three-match T20I series against India due to a left lateral ankle sprain. The 27-year-old will leave the national squad and continue his recovery process with his provincial team, the Momentum Multiply Titans, under the watchful eye of the Proteas medical team. This development was confirmed in a statement by Cricket South Africa (CSA).</p>
<p>Ngidi's availability for the four-day game scheduled for December 14-17 remains uncertain, pending further evaluation by the medical team. Initially expected to spearhead South Africa's fast bowling alongside Marco Jansen, Ngidi's injury has prompted CSA to call upon Beuran Hendricks, a 33-year-old left-arm pacer from Western Province, as his replacement.</p>
<p>Hendricks, who last represented South Africa in T20Is in 2021, brings experience to the team with 25 wickets from 19 T20I appearances.</p>

<p>The International Olympic Committee (IOC) has announced that certain Russian athletes will be permitted to participate in the 2024 Paris Olympics, discarding the possibility of a comprehensive ban due to Russia's involvement in the Ukraine conflict. This decision follows the IOC's steps initiated a year ago to gradually reintegrate Russia and Belarus, its military ally, into international sports. It also comes nine months after the IOC suggested sports federations consider allowing individual athletes to compete.</p>
<p>The responsibility of determining and implementing the conditions of neutral status for athletes lies with each Olympic sport's governing body. Eligible athletes must not have actively supported the war or be contracted to military or state security agencies. Those granted neutral status are required to compete without any national symbols, including flag, anthem, or colors. However, Russia remains barred from team sports events.</p>
<p>As of now, eight Russian and three Belarusian athletes are among the 4,600 who have qualified for the Summer Games, set to begin in July. While Russia sent a delegation of 335 athletes to the 2021 Tokyo Olympics, only a handful are expected to compete in Paris.</p>
<p>Ukrainian athletes and officials, including President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, have consistently lobbied the IOC to fully ban Russian and Belarusian athletes from the Olympics due to the ongoing invasion that began in February 2022.</p>

<p>The Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, which hosted the ODI World Cup final on November 19 between India and Australia, received an "average" rating for its pitch from the International Cricket Council (ICC). While the pitch was deemed average, the outfield earned a "very good" rating from ICC match referee and former Zimbabwean cricketer Andy Pycroft.</p>
<p>In the final, Australia triumphed over India by six wickets on a slow and sluggish pitch. This rating came amidst reports of India using a previously played-on surface for the semifinal.</p>
<p>The Eden Gardens pitch in Kolkata, the venue for the second semifinal between Australia and South Africa, also received an "average" rating from the ICC. This low-scoring match saw Australia chasing down South Africa's total of 212 with seven wickets lost in 47.2 overs. Javagal Srinath, former Indian pacer and ICC match referee, however, rated Eden Gardens' outfield as "very good."</p>
<p>The ICC defines an "average" pitch as one lacking in carry, bounce, or occasional seam movement, but maintaining consistency in carry and bounce. It may offer a degree of turn for spinners but falls short of the "very good" category in terms of carry, bounce, and turn.</p>

<p>The highly anticipated Women&rsquo;s Premier League (WPL) auction is all set to take place on 9th December 2023 in Mumbai. A total of 30 player slots are up for grabs in the upcoming auction, with nine of these slots reserved for overseas players.</p>
<p><strong>165 players to go under the hammer</strong></p>
<p>A total of 165 players will go under the hammer during the auction. Five franchises including Mumbai Indians, Delhi Capitals, UP Warriorz, Gujarat Giants, and Royal Challengers Bangalore will be bidding in this auction to fill the vacant spots of their teams. 104 Indian players and 61 overseas players will take part in the Women's Premier League 2024 auction on Saturday.</p>
<p><strong>Purse available with every team</strong></p>
<p>For the inaugural season, teams were allocated a purse of INR 12 crore. With the addition of the extra INR 1.5 crore, the total purse available for the auction will increase to 13.5 crore.</p>
<p>Gujarat Giants now have the largest purse after releasing 11 players, with INR <strong>5.95 crore</strong> available to them. The remaining sums for other teams are as follows:&nbsp;</p>
