Asian Games 2023 Medal Tally on Oct 4: India 4th in standings after day 11 at Hangzhou 2022

From a maiden medal in Archery at the Asian Games to a Neerap Chopra do-over of 2018 Jakarta, India shone bright with their second-largest single-day haul in Hangzhou on October 4th.

The mixed doubles pair of Manju Rani and Ram Baboo began India's day on a high with a bronze in the 35 km Race Walk event.

It was followed by a historic first gold by Jyothi Vennam and Ojas Deotale in the Compund Archery event.

Indian boxers Lovlina Borgohain and Parveen Hooda settled for silver and bronze respectively after losses in each of their events.

Meanwhile, the Indian men's hockey team advanced to the final's assuring the country of at least a silver medal after a hard-fought game against South Korea.

In Squash, the mixed pair of Abhay Singh and Anahat Singh finished with a bronze and seniors Dipika Pallikal-Harinder Pal Sandhu moved on to the finals of mixed event.

Sunil Kumar opened wrestling's account at the Asiad with a bronze in the Men's Greco-Roman 87 KG event.

The evening belonged to India's athletics as it rained medals for the country.

It began with a second silver medal for Harmilan Bains, this time in the 800m race. Avinash Sable also claimed his second medal of Asian Games, a silver in the Men's 5000m Race.

India then went on to produce their best finish since 1951 in the javelin throw event when Neeraj Chopra and Kishore Kumar Jena finished 1-2 respectively in the discipline.

Hangzhou Day 11 concluded with two major wins in the Women's and Men's Relay Race.

The Women's 4x400m Relay Race bagged the second spot while the Men's team came out on top to secure a gold.
