Pakistan's Azam Khan faced a 50% fine of his match fees for displaying Palestinian flag on his bat.

In the National T20 tournament in Karachi, Azam Khan, the middle-order batter for Karachi Whites, faced a 50% fine of his match fees. The penalty was imposed for violating clothing and equipment regulations by displaying an "unapproved logo", in this case, the flag of Palestine, during a game against Lahore Blues. Azam scored 35 runs before being summoned by match referee Mohammad Javed.
A reliable source confirmed to Geo News that Azam had indeed been fined, shedding light on the breach of the ICC code of conduct. The flamboyant batter had been warned earlier not to showcase the flag on his bat. Despite the warning, Azam argued that all his bats had identical stickers.
The ICC regulations explicitly prohibit players from displaying messages with political, religious, or racial undertones on their clothing or equipment. The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), as a signatory to these rules, confirmed that Azam was charged with violating these regulations.
PCB sources revealed that Azam had used the same sticker in two previous National T20 Cup games without facing any warnings.
However, during the recent match, the breach was addressed, resulting in a fine.
This incident follows Pakistan's cricket team expressing solidarity with Palestine during the ICC Men's Cricket World Cup in October.&nbsp;

India's Jyothi Surekha Vennam will fight for Gold in the individual event of Women's Compound Archery. Jyothi, the top seed at the event, defeated World Champion and compatriot Aditi Swami, the 17-year-old, in an all-Indian semifinal to assure India of at least a silver medal at the Asian Games.
While Jyothi was trailing Aditi by a point before the final series, Aditi shot a 7 during the final 3 arrows which saw her fall behind. And Jyothi shot the perfect 10 in each of her three to progress into the final after winning the match 149-146.
Aditi Swami will now fight for a medal in the bronze medal match while Jyothi Surekha will be hoping to bring home the Gold come finals day.

A run-chase of 223 looked very tough and with Australia reduced to 68/3, India seemed on course to seal the 5-match T20I series with 2 games left.
But entered Glenn Maxwell and ran riot.
He went into beast mode and single-handedly carried his side over the finish line with an unbeaten 48-ball-104.

It was Maxwell's 4th T20I hundred and he has now equalled Rohit Sharma's record of scoring the most tons in the shortest format of the game.
However, the Aussie power hitter took 48 innings less than the hitman to achieve the milestone. What made the feat even more special was the fact that Maxwell was playing his 100th T20I.
While the Aussies stayed on track in the chase, quick wickets saw them looking for some inspiration at 134/5 within 14 overs.

Ruturaj Gaikwad displayed brute power and wonderful technique in equal measure with a maiden hundred that propelled India to a commanding 222 for 3 against Australia in the third T20 International here on Tuesday.
Gaikwad slammed a career-best 123 not out off just 57 balls with 13 fours and seven sixes, a first ton by an Indian batter against Australia in T20 Internationals.
The 30 runs that Gaikwad took off Glenn Maxwell in the 20th over could prove to be a game-changer. Skipper Matthew Wade's decision to give a part-time off-spinner 20th over of the innings backfired big-time.
On a wicket that had some extra bounce and swing, India had a shaky start losing their both their in-form batters Yashasvi Jaiswal (6) and Ishan Kishan (0) cheaply after Matthew Wade opted to bowl to make use of the dewy conditions.
Skipper Suryakumar Yadav (39; 29b) looked set for a big knock with two sixes and five boundaries before debutant pacer Aaron Hardie dismissed him with a short ball just after the halfway mark.
With run-rate not an issue -- eight per over -- they needed someone to anchor their innings, and the Indian vice-captain Gaikwad played the role to perfection.
From 13 off 15 balls, the right-hander with orthodox technique, who often drew flak for his slow starts, switched gears after Surya's dismissal, displaying the wide array of shots in his repertoire.
His knock was not just about classical drives in the V but also a testament to his brute power. He packed a lot of punch in his pulls and an inside-out maximums. It was a different Gaikwad on display during last six overs.
Once he got his furst 50 off 32 balls, he then went berserk, taking another 20 to bring up his maiden triple digit score in the last over of Maxwell.
Gaikwad muscled Maxwell over wide long to to bring up his century with a six as he smashed two more in the same over that yielded 30 runs as India amassed 200-plus totals in each of the three T20Is so far.&nbsp;

Namibia on Tuesday become the first team from the Africa Region Qualifiers to punch its ticket to the T20 World Cup 2024.

It will be their 3rd World T20 overall. Namibia had managed to qualify for the last two editions as well in 2021 and 2022.

They sealed their qualification on Tuesday with a 58-run win over Tanzania, which took its winning streak in the competition to 5. 10 points and a net run rate of +2.6 assured them a top-two finish on the Africa region qualifiers points table.
The T20 World Cup will be played in the West Indies and the USA from June 4-30 next year.
The ICC informed that five wins in as many matches have not only taken Namibia to the top of the points table, ensuring their third straight appearance in the tournament.
&ldquo;The Eagles currently sit on top of the table with 10 points, with their win against Tanzania ensuring a top-two finish required to qualify for the showpiece event next year,&rdquo; the ICC said on its website.
Uganda, Kenya, Zimbabwe and Nigeria are still in the reckoning from the Africa region. Among these, Uganda and Kenya are placed better than Zimbabwe and Nigeria, who will have to wait for other results to go their way.
A few days ago, Uganda had stunned Zimbabwe by five wickets to earn two crucial points in the Qualifiers.
The next edition of the showpiece will feature 20 teams divided into four groups consisting five sides each, while 12 teams have already qualified for the event.
This includes the co-hosts West Indies and the USA, followed by top eight teams in the last T20 World Cup in Australia alongside Afghanistan and Bangladesh, who were the next two best teams on the cut-off date of November 14, 2022.

Gavaskar captioned the photo "What foresight of those in the last century to name a railway station near Surat after one of the all time greats of our game and my favourite cricketer but more importantly my favourite person."
