Asian Games 2023: India secure bronze in men's and women's 3000m team relay events in roller skating

Indian roller skaters showcased their prowess at the Asian Games 2023, securing two bronze medals in the highly competitive men's and women's 3000m team relay events in speed skating. This achievement equals India's best performance in roller skating at the prestigious event.

On the ninth day of intense competitions, the Indian women's team—comprising Sanjana Bathula, Karthika Jagadeeswaran, Heeral Sadhu, and Aarathy Kasturi Raj—made a strong start, clinching bronze with an impressive timing of 4:34.861s. They stood behind the gold medallists from Chinese Taipei (4:19.447) and South Korea (4:21.146).

In the men's team relay, Aryanpal Singh Ghuman, Anandkumar Velkumar, Siddhant Kamble, and Vikram Ingale demonstrated exceptional skill, securing a well-deserved bronze with a remarkable timing of 4:10.128. The top positions were secured by Chinese Taipei (4:05.692) and South Korea (4:05.702).

This achievement reflects the significant progress of Indian roller skaters, matching their performance at the Guangzhou 2010 Asian Games, where they secured two bronze medals in men's free skating and pairs skating events.
