Shahdol, Sep 1 (PTI) - Prime Minister Narendra Modi's accolades for Vicharpur village in Madhya Pradesh's Shahdol district, now renowned as 'mini Brazil' for its football prowess, have ignited an air of excitement and vigor among the players, as confirmed by coach Anil Singh.

During his 'Mann Ki Baat' radio address on Sunday, Modi lauded the young footballers from Vicharpur and revealed that former German footballer and coach Dietmar Beiersdorfer extended an invitation for some players to train at a football academy in Germany.

"It's commendable that Prime Minister Modi has spotlighted 'Mini Brazil' once more in his 'Mann Ki Baat'. He also announced that a German coach has invited players for training. Four players and a coach will likely go. This training will enable players to hone their skills," Vicharpur football coach Anil Singh commented to PTI Videos.

"This pronouncement has given our players a surge of enthusiasm and zeal," Singh added.

National-level footballer Sania Kunde and player Radhni Singh expressed their gratitude towards the PM, noting how his words have amplified the village's fame and opened doors for several players to pursue training in Germany.

Former player and coach Virendra Baigi remarked, "Since Prime Minister Modi highlighted Vicharpur in Mann Ki Baat and visited players in Pakaria village, the young athletes have received adequate footwear and equipment." He remains hopeful these resources will persist, ensuring the dreams of 'Mini Brazil's' youngsters are realized.

Madhya Pradesh's Sports Minister Vishwas Sarang voiced that the PM's commendation of Vicharpur's football and water sports teams in 'Mann Ki Baat' will earn the players international recognition. The offer of German training not only honors the state but the entire nation.

"Four football players and coaches from Vicharpur have been invited to Germany from October 4-12, 2025, where they will experience top-tier training and facilities," Sarang mentioned.
