SRH's Pat Cummins calls turnaround from 2023 season 'gratifying' ahead of the IPL Final vs KKR

An ecstatic winning captain, Pat Cummins called the turnaround from SRH's dismal 2023 season 'a gratifying experience' after their emphatic victory over Rajasthan on Friday.

SRH finished tenth in the previous season and this year will play for their second title against KKR at the Chepauk on Sunday.

Pat Cummins, the second-costliest buy in IPL history, was instrumental in scripting SRH's comeback from the ashes.

Speaking at the post-match presentation, Cummins praised his team for an exceptional season, 'The boys have been fantastic all season. There's a great vibe in the squad as you can see and the final was the goal at the start of the season and we made it.'

Cummins added that the final is as much theirs as the individuals working behind the scenes at the franchise.

'It is for the whole franchise, probably 60 or 70 of them who put their heart and soul into this. It is really gratifying and hopefully one more left,' he said.

While SRH are known for their batting prowess, the bowlers took them home on Friday and losing captain Sanju Samson rued their lack of options against Hyderabad's spinners.

'It was a big game. I am really proud of the way we bowled in the first innings. We were found short of options in the middle overs against their spin, that's where we lost the game,' Samson said after their 36-run loss.
