Mumbai Indians set to offer Jofra Archer a blockbuster deal for full-time services: Report

Mumbai Indians (MI) are reportedly looking to secure the services of English fast bowler Jofra Archer on a long-term basis by offering him a multi-million pound per year contract.

According to a report by Dailymail.co.uk, MI are set to offer Archer a year-round contract that would require the England & Wales Cricket Board to seek MI's permission to use Archer's services in international cricket.

Archer is currently a part of MI-owned franchises in both the Indian Premier League (IPL) and the South African T20 League (SA20). If he signs a year-long deal with the franchise, he could represent the MI-owned franchises in all four leagues around the world.

While there is still no official update on whether Archer will agree to a full-time deal with the franchise, MI see him as a valuable asset to their squad even though he has returned home midway through the tournament due to elbow trouble.

Despite making a comeback to the game in SA20 earlier this year, Archer has only played 11 matches in the past two years. It remains to be seen if MI's offer will entice the right-arm pacer to commit to a long-term deal with the franchise.
