IPL 2023: 'Who has written the script?' - 41-year-old MS Dhoni almost pulls off fairytale finish

"Who has written the script?" quipped one of the commentators on air when MS Dhoni smashed Sandeep Sharma for two consecutive sixes in the final over.

With 7 needed off 3, it looked like MS Dhoni was about to pull off the impossible in his 200th match as CSK captain. But not all fairytales come true. And Sandeep Sharma only gave away 3 runs to eke out a 3-run victory for the Royals.

Chasing 40 runs in the final 2 overs was always going to be difficult but Dhoni & Jadeja almost made it happen.

Dhoni's aura of invincibility just couldn't be ignored, for Sandeep Sharma bowled 2 wides at the start of the 20th over when MSD was on strike. Such is the fear he has instilled in the bowlers over the years.

And even though IPL 2023 is supposed to be Dhoni's swansong, the 41-year-old clearly doesn't look half as bad as his age would suggest.

For Dhoni will forever be a champion!
