IPL 2023, DC vs MI preview: A battle to stay afloat, who will emerge victorious?

Five-time champions Mumbai Indians have been winless in IPL 2023 and have consequently been knocked to the bottom of the points table.

Rohit Sharma’s men have had an extremely poor run in their IPL campaign, losing two out of two. Both defeats were harsh blows for Mumbai, which saw lacklustre performances and a dearth of an all-round effort from the entire team.

But another team is having it worse than Mumbai.

Delhi Capitals, who Mumbai play on Tuesday, will return to their base bruised and battered from three consecutive losses.

Delhi coach Ricky Ponting has admitted that they are a ‘long way off’ from being in the competition adding that playing combinations used by them haven't worked so far.

There are two foreign pacers at the disposal of Delhi Capitals, South African Lungi Ngidi and Bangladesh’s Mustafizur Rahman. The inclusion of one of these two can boost the Capitals’ bowling unit.

Mumbai was without their leading man Jofra Archer in their clash against Chennai Super Kings on Saturday. Mumbai’s head coach Mark Boucher provided an update after the match on Archer’s health stating that the pacer had picked up a ‘little niggle’ and was being tended to by the medical team.
