Kolkata Knight Riders' Rinku Singh was undoubtedly the star in KKR's match against Lucknow Super Giants. KKR were 5 wickets down when Singh came to bat and scored 40 runs in just 15 balls. However, Kolkata lost the game to Lucknow by 2 runs.

The story of Aligarh-born Rinku Singh is nothing less than an amazing inspirational story which involves rejection, dejection, injury and a brilliant comeback.

The 24-year-old southpaw considered getting a job as a sweeper in his early days but later found an interest in cricket.

Rinku was bought by Punjab Kings in IPL 2017 and was bought by Kolkata in 2018. Despite his presence in IPL, the leading run-scorer for Uttar Pradesh in the group stage of Ranji Trophy 2018-19, didn't get many chances to play in IPL.

But right through IPL 2022, Rinku emerged as KKR's Mr Dependable and scored runs whenever he got a chance. In the 7 matches he played, Rinku smashed 174 runs with a strike rate of close to 150. KKR's season might have ended but with Rinku Singh shining bright, the team has something to look forward to next year.
