IPL 2022, MI vs RR: 'Personal milestones not important', says Mumbai's Suryakumar Yadav

After 8 successive losses, Mumbai Indians finally opened their account this season with a 5-wicket win over Rajasthan Royals in the 2022 season of the Indian Premier League on Saturday. The Rohit Sharma-led side who are languishing at the bottom of the table though are apparently out of contention for the play-offs, their star batter, Suryakumar Yadav feels that the win will bring a lot of positivity to the team.

Speaking in the post-match presentation, Suryakumar Yadav who played a clinical inning of 51 in 39 balls said that the win will spread a lot of positivity. We already were actually enjoying each other's company during practice sessions and during team dinners and all, I feel this win will spread even more positivity and it will help each and everyone learn going forward in this season., he added.

Although the 5-time IPL champions haven't fared well this season, Suryakumar has been performing consistently for his team. However, he feels that his personal milestones do not matter if the team is losing games. Tilak Varma and Suryakumar Yadav who have performed for the team in almost all-their games are the highest scores for MI with 307 and 290 runs respectively.
