IPL 2022 Match 11 CSK vs PBKS: Chennai look to end their losing streak on Sunday

IPL 2022: In a bid to win their first match, a struggling Chennai will battle against Punjab Kings(PBKS) in the Match 11 of the 2022 season of Indian Premier League at the Brabourne Stadium, Mumbai.

While Chennai for the first time in the history of the cash-rich league has lost 2 matches back to back at the beginning of the season, Punjab after winning their season opener suffered a loss in their 2nd match vs Kolkata Knight Riders(KKR). Both the teams are at the bottom of the table, with Punjab at the 7th and Chennai at the 8th spot will look to turn their fortunes around.

Apart from the change in captaincy, from MS Dhoni to Ravindra Jadeja that doesn't seem to work for Chennai, a couple of fitness issues along with Deepak Chahar's absence have become a stumbling block for the defending champions. While Adam Milne who suffered an injury in the first game vs KKR is not expected to play, pacer Chris Jordan might just get fit in time to appear for their match against Punjab. Shivam Dube, despite proving expensive for CSK in the Lucknow Super Giants defeat will likely retain his place in the playing XI.

On the other Punjab would be aiming to make a comeback against the drooping Chennai. Jonny Bairstow's return will immensely boost the confidence of the Mayank Agarwal-led side who will also have to keep in check their top-order failure.

CSK vs PBKS HEAD TO HEAD

Chennai, however, dominates the head-to-head stat against Punjab as out of 25 times that the teams have faced each other, CSK has won 15 times and Punjab has merely won 10 matches.
