IPL 2022: groups assigned to all teams, here is everything you need to know about the fixtures

The IPL Governing Council on Friday divided all 10 teams into their respective 2 groups based on the number of championships followed by the number of final matches played by the respective teams.

Group A has Mumbai Indians (MI), Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), Rajasthan Royals (RR), Delhi Capitals (DC) and Lucknow Super Giants (LSG). Group B consists of Chennai Super Kings (CSK), SunRisers Hyderabad (SRH), Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), Punjab Kings (PBKS) and Gujarat Titans, (GT).

Despite IPL turning into a 10-team tournament, each team will still play a total of 14 games. They will play twice with all the teams in their group and with the team in the same row in the second group. They will meet the rest of the teams in the other group only once.

All teams will play four matches each at Mumbai's Wankhede Stadium and DY Patil Stadium and three matches each at the Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai and MCA International Stadium, Pune. The venues for the playoffs will be decided later.
