Chasing a mammoth 216-run target, Kolkata were off to a poor start as Ajinkya Rahane failed again. Then, captain Shreyas Iyer stitched a 69-run stand with Nitish Rana to bring KKR's chase back on track. But the KKR skipper scummed under the scoreboard pressure and finally got dismissed for 54. Kuldeep Yadav produced a brilliant spell and took four wickets as he did not allow the lower order to stage any fight back. Andre Russell remain stuck at the other end and got dismissed in the last over after scoring 24 runs in 21.

Earlier, Prithvi Shaw and David Warner provided Delhi a flying start as both went hammer & tongs from the word go. The duo stitched a 93-run opening stand before Varun Chakaravarthy cleaned up Prithvi Shaw for 51 runs. After a below-par performance in his first match this season, Warner came back strongly and smashed 45-ball 61.

Pant promoted himself after the superb start and continued to accelerate before getting out for 27 off 14 balls. Kolkata clawed back in the game after Pant's dismissal but Axar-Shardul's 49 runs partnership off 20 balls ensured Delhi cross the 200-run mark easily.
