Dwayne Bravo retires from IPL, joins CSK coaching staff for this role

Former West Indies all-rounder Dwayne Bravo announced his retirement from the Indian Premier League (IPL) on Friday.

But he will continue to work with the Chennai Super Kings as their bowling coach during IPL 2023. Laxmipathy Balaji, CSK's bowling coach till last season, has taken a break for one year due to personal commitments.

In a franchise statement, Bravo said that he doesn't have to adjust much from being a player to a coach given he has been working with bowlers during his playing days as well.

Since its inception in 2008, Bravo had played IPL every year except in 2017 when an injury prevented him from representing Gujarat Lions.

The legendary West Indian cricketer made his IPL debut for Mumbai Indians in 2008. With 183 wickets in the IPL, Bravo is the leading wicket-taker after 15 seasons in the cash-rich league.
