Axar Patel displayed epic power-hitting skills in the death overs as Delhi Capitals (DC) snatched a victory from the jaws of defeat against Mumbai Indians (MI) in Match 2 of IPL 2022. Axar's power-hitting was ably supported by Lalit Yadav as the duo scored 75 runs off the 30 balls to take Delhi over the line.

Chasing a 178-run target, Delhi were tottering at 72-5 in the 10 Overs before Shardul Thakur's 22-run blitz put DC's chase on course. Lalit held on to one end as wickets kept tumbling from another end. Delhi Capitals needed 28 runs off the last 18 deliveries and Axar, Lalit combo smashed 24 runs in the 18th overs, keeping only 4 runs to win in 12 deliveries. Axar smashed a boundary off Bumrah to overhaul the target with 10 balls remaining.

DC vs MI MATCH 1: as it happened

Earlier, Ishan Kishan justified the big money he earned during the auctions and smashed 48-ball 81. With wickets falling from one end, Kishan built his innings with immense balance, finding boundaries at regular intervals. Tim David and Daniel Sams too came handy with the bat in the death overs as Mumbai Indians scored 177 for the loss of five wickets in 20 Overs.
