Chennai Super Kings will inch closer to a playoff berth if they win against the Delhi Capitals in Match 55 of IPL 2023 at MA Chidambaram Stadium.

MS Dhoni's men returned to winning ways with a convincing victory over the Mumbai Indians and will be hoping to pick up two more points when they host the Capitals, who may be well behind on the points table but have won 4 of their last 5 matches.

Once again, all eyes will be on 'Baby Malinga' Matheesha Pathirana who has become a death-overs specialist under Dhoni's guidance.

With Tushar Deshpande too among the top wicket-takers of the tournament, Delhi will be wary of the Chennai pace attack at Chepauk.

The DC batters really haven't been upto the mark but Phil Salt's incredible knock in the last match will surely act as a big boost for their confidence.

However, David Warner's side cannot afford to slip up because a defeat could spell doom for their campaign.

      Delhi team news

Delhi team management could bring Lalit Yadav in place of Manish Pandey. With Lalit being an all-rounder, his off-spin can come in handy against CSK's left-handers at Chepauk.

      Chennai weather update

There is no chance of rainfall, but hot and unsettling humidity may welcome the players.
