Despondency grew in the Delhi Capitals camp as the Royal Challengers Bangalore handed David Warner & Co their 5th straight loss at the Chinnaswamy Stadium on Saturday.

Chasing 175, Delhi Capitals’ innings was off to a rough start after they lost 4 wickets in the powerplay itself.

Before they could gain traction, debutant Vyshak Vijaykumar worked his magic and took his maiden IPL wicket.

After that, there was no looking back for Kumar as he went on to take 2 more wickets and completely crush Delhi’s hopes of a win. Kumar’s bowling figures are the best by an Indian for the Royal Challengers Bangalore on debut.

While Kumar starred with the ball, it was former captain Virat Kohli’s half-century in the first innings that helped RCB get off to a good start.

After Kohli’s wicket in the 11th over, RCB’s batting order suffered a collapse in quick succession however, it was Glenn Maxwell’s quick 14-ball 24 that helped stabilise their innings.

Kuldeep Yadav and Mitchell Marsh worked in unison to restrict Bangalore to 174/6.

The bottom-placed Delhi side, who came into the match after four losses on the trot, then made a mockery of the 175-run chase as they were restricted to 151/9 in the stipulated 20 overs.
