Mohanlal Honored by Indian Army Chief for Service and Plans

Thiruvananthapuram/New Delhi, Oct 7 (PTI): Malayalam superstar Mohanlal, who recently received the esteemed Dadasaheb Phalke Award, was honored in New Delhi on Tuesday with a commendation by Indian Army Chief General Upendra Dwivedi.

Mohanlal, who holds the rank of Lieutenant Colonel in the Territorial Army, described the commendation as an "honor" and a "great gesture" from the military community he has served for 16 years.

In a conversation with the media following the ceremony, Mohanlal expressed his commitment to supporting the Army and improving civilian welfare.

The actor shared that he and the Army Chief discussed ways to enhance the efficiency of Territorial Army battalions, hinting at larger plans for the future. "So, it was a small discussion. We have bigger plans to come," he noted.

When queried about future film projects related to the armed forces, Mohanlal mentioned his previous collaborations with director Major Ravi on Army-themed films and revealed that more projects are underway.
