IPL 2023, LSG vs GT: Gujarat stun LSG, snatch a 7-run win

Gujarat Titans snatch a thrilling 7-run victory against Lucknow Super Giants as the defending champions defend the lowest total this season so far.

Choosing to bat first, Gujarat lost opener Shubman Gill on a duck in the 2nd over itself.
His opening partner Wriddhiman Saha stood his ground at the other end and managed to score a 37-ball-47 to put some sort of momentum into their innings.

Hardik Pandya top-scored for the team with a captain's knock of 66 runs which steered the defending champions to a total of 135 runs in the end.

Chasing a gettable 136, Lucknow started off on a steady note until opener Kyle Mayers got out at 24 runs in the 7th over.

What followed was a gritty knock by skipper KL Rahul (68) who took his time to make sure his team gets over the line in the end.

However, the wait proved to be too long as quick wickets by Noor Ahmad and Mohit Sharma rattled the LSG batting order who could only manage to conjure 128 runs in the end taking Gujarat Titans level with top spot RR on 8 points.
