India suffer injury blows ahead crucial test vs England
India has encountered significant challenges ahead of the decisive fourth Test against England, with injuries striking key players in the squad. All-rounder Nitish Kumar Reddy and pacer Arshdeep Singh have been ruled out due to injuries, adding pressure on the team as they aim to square the series. Nitish Kumar Reddy, who contributed in the second and third Tests, suffered a ligament injury to his left knee during a gym session on Sunday. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced his withdrawal from the series, extending wishes for his speedy recovery. Meanwhile, Arshdeep Singh's absence also delivers a blow to India's plans. He injured his left thumb while bowling in nets at Beckenham. Although he hasn't featured in the series so far, his injury complicates India's pace options, which are crucial as they strive to level the ongoing series. The BCCI Medical Team is overseeing his recovery process. To address these setbacks, Haryana's fast bowler Anshul Kamboj has been added to the squad as cover and has already linked up with the team in Manchester. The fourth Test, which holds significant importance with India trailing 2-1 in the Anderson Tendulkar Trophy, is scheduled to begin on Wednesday at Old Trafford. India's updated squad for the fourth Test includes Shubman Gill as the Captain and Rishabh Pant as the Vice-Captain. The team faces a pivotal challenge in reshaping their strategy and performance in the face of these adversities.
