Novi Sad, Serbia - Oct 23: At the U23 World Championships, three Indian women wrestlers, Nishu, Pulkit, and Srishti, showcased an impressive performance by advancing to the semifinals in their respective categories on Thursday.

Nishu, competing in the 55kg category, started strongly by defeating Japan's Moe Kiyooka, whom she pinned while leading 6-2. She then proceeded to face Kira Solobchuk, securing a decisive 10-1 victory, thus advancing to the semifinals.

Pulkit (65kg) demonstrated composure with two wins by technical superiority. She maintained her focus and outperformed her opponents, which included Canada's Maria Sawiak (10-0) and Turkiye's Beyza Akkus (18-8).

In the 68kg category, Srishti exhibited her prowess by overwhelming Canadian contender Angelina Ellis Toddington in a technical superiority victory (12-2). She followed this with a controlled 6-3 win over Ukraine's Manola Skobelska during the quarterfinals.

Meanwhile, Neha Sharma, fighting in the 57kg category, was eliminated at the quarterfinals. She succumbed to technical superiority against Japan’s Akari Fujinama, having previously outperformed Romania's Georgiana Lirca (6-0) and Kazakhstan's Nilufar Raimova (5-0).

Hanny Kumari (50kg) and Diksha Malik (72kg) have exited the competition. However, Priya will vie for the bronze medal in the 76kg category.
