IND vs NZ 2nd T20I: Suryakumar Yadav's 100 & Tim Southee's hat-trick light up Mount Maunganui

While India's charismatic batter Suryakumar Yadav ran riot at Bay Oval with his quickfire century, New Zealand pacer Tim Southee's last over hattrick didn't allow Men in Blue to breach the 200-run mark in the second T20I.

On the back of his rich vein of form, India's 'Mr 360' notched up a quickfire 111* off 51 balls and sent Kiwi bowlers for a leather hunt as he smashed 11 fours and 7 maximum at a mind-blowing strike rate of 217.65.

SKY slammed his 2nd T20I century by whacking Lockie Ferguson for 22 runs (4,0,4,4,4,6) in the penultimate over. The stunning feat also made him only the 2nd Indian batter to score 2 centuries in a calendar year after skipper Rohit Sharma, who scored 2 tons in 2018.

The attention was quickly shifted to Tim Southee as he took a hattrick in the last over.

After giving 2 runs each of the first and 2nd balls of the last over, Southee removed Hardik Pandya and Deepak Hooda first and then ousted Washington Sundar in the following delivery to complete the hat trick. This was Southee's second hattrick in the shortest format and now he joined Sri Lanka legend Lasith Malinga in the list of bowlers who have more than one hattrick.
