Yuzvendra Chahal opens up on ODI World Cup 2023 snub

Yuzvendra Chahal opened up on missing out on a 3rd consecutive World Cup for India and said that he understands that only 15 players can be a part of the squad and you can’t take 17 or 18 players.

'I do feel a little bad, but my motto in life is to move on. I’m used to it now it’s been three World Cups (laughs),' Chahal told Wisden India.

'I want to play cricket somewhere, somehow. That's why I came here to play for Kent,' the leg spinner said about his County Championship stint.

Indian selectors initially picked 3 spinners for the 2023 World Cup - Ravindra Jadeja, Kuldeep Yadav and Axar Patel. However, Axar couldn't recover in time for the event, so Ravichandran Ashwin was drafted into the squad last minute.

Sadly, Chahal wasn't in selectors' top 4 spinners as well.

Before this, Chahal wasn't a part of the 2021 T20 World Cup in the UAE and did not play a single match in the 2022 edition of the tournament despite getting selected.
