After David Warner and Mitchell Marsh shone with the bat, Pakistan were caught in Adam Zampa's web as the Men in Green faced a 62-run defeat against a dominant Australia in their World Cup game in Bengaluru.

Pakistan got trapped by their own decision of sending the Aussies to bat first as openers David Warner and Mitchell Marsh dictated terms with superb 100s and a mammoth 259-run stand. Shaheen Afridi did restrict the Australians with a 5-wicket haul but the opening pair had already done the damage as the Pat Cummins-led side was able to post a 368-run target.

Later, Abdullah Shafique and Imam-ul Haq provided Pakistan a brilliant start with a 134-run partnership but Marcus Stoinis spoiled their plans as he ousted the duo to reduce Pakistan to 154-2. Mohd Rizwan though brought faint hope but Adam Zampa who derailed Pakistan's plans removed him after he scored a 40-ball 46. Zampa emerged as the most successful Aussie bowler with figures of 4-53 as Pakistan were bundled out for 305 inside 46 overs.
