New Zealand's Kane Williamson all-praise for Team India, calls Virat Kohli 'the best' | Cricket World Cup

After New Zealand's third successive World Cup defeat in the knockout stage, a dejected Kane Williamson still held his opponents in high regard.

Addressing the post-match press conference, he heaped praises on the unstoppable Team India, who handed the Kiwis a 70-run defeat in the 2023 World Cup semifinal.

'India are playing seriously good cricket, they're a class side at the top of their game and to come out in a semi-final and continue and repeat what they've been doing throughout this competition shows where they're at as a team,' Williamson admitted.

But the 33-year-old also mentioned that he and the rest of the New Zealand team should be proud of the effort that went in to getting them to that stage.

Williamson also spoke about his U-19 World Cup counterpart Virat Kohli, who went past Sachin Tendulkar to score his 50th ODI century.

'Yes, I mean that's something quite special, I think if you play 50 games, some people would call that a great career. To get 50 hundreds, trying to find the words to describe it really. I mean he's the best isn't he?' he remarked.
