Ibrahim Zadran credits Sachin Tendulkar for inspiration after scoring Afghanistan's first World Cup ton

Ibrahim Zadran made history for Afghanistan as the 21-year-old became the first centurion for his country at the Cricket World Cup.

Zadran, in fact, went on to thank Indian legend Sachin Tendulkar for inspiring him. The Indian legend had visited the Afghanistan team a day before the game at the Wankhede Stadium, where he shared some valuable inputs and advice with the squad members.

Speaking after the innings, an emotional Zadran said, "I met Sachin Tendulkar yesterday and his inputs helped me a lot. He played for 24 years, I'm thankful he shared the experience with us. Sachin sir gave me lots of energy and confidence. It is because of him that I was able to play an innings like that"

Zadran's unbeaten 129 runs against Australia at Wankhede helped his side put up 291/5 on the board.
