Following India's heartbreaking World Cup final loss against Australia on Sunday, former Indian cricketer Harbhajan Singh was slammed on social media for his remarks on bollywood actresses Anushka Sharma and Athiya Shetty who were present at the Narendra Modi Stadium to watch the final.

Harbhajan was criticised for his 'sexist' remark while commentating for Star Sports during the India vs Australia final.

While Anushka and Athiya were seen chatting during the match, Harbhajan commented “This is what I was thinking if they are talking about cricket or films..Because I don’t know how much they understand cricket.”

The comment sparked a lot of criticism for the former cricketer on social media as people slammed him for his 'unnecessary sexist' remark towards the Bollywood duo.

Both Anushka and Athiya are married to Indian team cricketers Virat Kohli and KL Rahul respectively and were present in the stadium to support them.

India lost the final to Australia by 6 wickets on Sunday.
