Dharamsala outfield in focus again, South Africa vs Netherlands match under threat | ODI World Cup 2023

Days after the International Cricket Council (ICC) rated the outfield at the HPCA stadium as 'average', the Dharamsala outfield is in focus yet again.

The hill town received rain throughout the day on the eve of the South Africa vs Netherlands ODI World Cup 2023 match and the venue is in a race against time to get ready for the clash.

However, Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association (HPCA) secretary Avnish Parmar told The Indian Express that there was no threat to Tuesday's game and the ground staff was fully equipped.

The outfield in Dharamsala has been making news for wrong reasons during this tournament. Afghanistan head coach Jonathan Trott had earlier revealed that Mujeeb Ur Rahman was lucky to escape serious injury on a visibly patchy outfield at this ground.

The ground is set to host 3 more World Cup games including the India-New Zealand match this Sunday. But as the patchy outfield was made even muddier after rain, playing conditions at Dharamsala is likely to remain a topic of discussion going forward.
