Star Afghanistan opener Rahmanullah Gurbaz, who smashed a fiery 57-ball-80 vs England in ODI World Cup 2023 game on Sunday, revealed how Virat Kohli inspired him to score big runs.

'Kohli is an Inspiration for every young player in the world, players look up to him and he helped me a lot about the game plan, how to build an innings and how to score big runs,' Gurbaz told the broadcasters.

The 21-year-old batter took Afghanistan off to a solid start vs England and smashed 4 sixes and 8 fours to stitch a 114-run opening stand with Ibrahim Zadran.

His knock helped his side post 284 against the defending champions. Afghanistan later stunned England by 69 runs to pull off a major upset.
