Thomas Tuchel to depart as Bayern Munich head coach at the end of season

Bayern Munich have officially announced that Thomas Tuchel will step down from his position as head coach when the current Bundesliga season concludes. This decision comes in the wake of a series of disappointing results for the German powerhouse, including a recent 3-2 defeat against Bochum in the Bundesliga.

This loss followed a troubling week for Bayern, which saw them suffer a 1-0 defeat at Lazio in the Champions League and a 3-0 loss at Bayer Leverkusen the previous weekend.

The defeat at Bochum has further dampened Bayern's hopes of securing the Bundesliga title, as they now find themselves trailing eight points behind league leaders Leverkusen, with only 12 matches left in the season. These setbacks mark a challenging phase for Bayern, reminiscent of May 2015 when the club experienced similar defeats under Pep Guardiola's management.

Back then, Bayern faced losses against Leverkusen and Barcelona in the Champions League, followed by a 1-0 defeat to Augsburg in the Bundesliga. However, the situation was less dire at the time as Bayern had already clinched the Bundesliga title in Guardiola’s second season at the helm.
