Premier League: Ten Hag criticises 'inconsistent' officials after Casemiro's red card

Erik Ten Hag was fuming over the 'inconsistency' of the officials after Manchester United's Casemiro got sent off for the second time in his United career as the home side had to be satisfied with a goalless draw against Southampton on Sunday.

"Well, what I think is the inconsistency (means) players don't know any more what is the policy," the United boss said on Casemiro's sending off.

"Casemiro, across European leagues and over 500 games yet (he's) never had a red card and now he had (it) twice. Overthink that. But he's a...oh he plays tough, he plays fair. And also in this he is playing fair. Same against Crystal Palace so it's very debatable." he added.

Casemiro was sent off in the 34th minute after VAR Andre Marriner advised referee Anthony Taylor to review the challenge on Saints midfielder Carlos Alcaraz on the pitchside monitor.
