Paul Pogba: France footballer's second sample also tests positive for Testosterone

Juventus midfielder Paul Pogba is facing a doping investigation after his backup “B” sample also tested positive for testosterone. This revelation, following the initial positive test after Juventus’ game against Udinese on August 20, has been carried out by Nado Italia, Italy’s anti-doping agency.

Since the first test, Pogba has been under provisional suspension for almost a month, a situation that could potentially lead to a ban of up to four years. Both Pogba and Juventus have not contested these test results publicly.

Juventus coach Massimiliano Allegri expressed his sympathy, saying, “Humanely, I’m sorry for Paul.” Unfortunately, this doping case is another setback for Pogba, who has been grappling with injuries since his return to Juventus from Manchester United a little over a year ago. Injuries saw him missing out on France’s journey to the World Cup final last year and restricted him to just six Serie A matches for Juventus in the previous season.

Adding to these challenges, there's an ongoing police investigation in France regarding allegations that Pogba was a target of extortionists, including accusations against his older brother, Mathias, who has denied any involvement.
